Blue shark washed up at Greenhills
On 31 August 2011, local newspaper The Leader included my photo of a blue shark washed up at Greenhills beach, Cronulla in their surf report.
My friend and I moved the shark up above the high tide line and contacted the Fisheries Department, which was glad to receive the specimen as blue sharks rarely wash up. True to form, my primary-aged daughter informed me afterwards that blue sharks are the most widely distributed animal species on the planet, and are gentle towards humans. (She was right!)
STOP PRESS....Here's a pic of the "Blue shark" washed up at Greenhills this morning taken by S Dobson, C Rehberg / Where Light Meets Dark. The fisheries took it away for animal experiments!
... The shark pic was taken wed morning 6.30 am....There is a whale washed up at the wall now (it is just a carcass)
